Device Technologies operates from a head office in Sydney and branch offices in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth & Auckland. 

Prior to engaging Intelligent IP Communications they had separate aging PBXs in each office with no ability to seamlessly communicate between locations.  Their data network used internet connections with VPN tunnels. These gave low speed performance with high latency. Their data switching was out dated, unmanaged and unreliable.

Challenge

Device Technologies wanted to completely replace their IT Infrastructure throughout their organisation. They envisioned significant benefits in using unified telephony infrastructure that was the same at all locations. They primarily saw benefits from extension level dialing to any site and also from softphone applications for their mobile sales team.

The Device Technologies migration included upgrading all of their data connectivity to high-speed services on a private network.  Device wanted fully managed data switch infrastructure at all locations with centralised internet access and a managed firewall solution.

Device Technologies needed a single provider who could install, provide, manage and support an entire communications and infrastructure solution encompassing:

• All data carrier services
• All carrier voice services
• All Internet services
• All Internet security
• Full IP Telephony Unified Communications
• Complete managed data switch network
• High Definition Video between all locations

Solution

Carrier Infrastructure

Intelligent IP Communications (IIPC) connected all Device Technologies offices through our national MPLS private network. These were all connected using 4MB & 20MB Ethernet services. IIPC also delivered a 2MB service to their Auckland office.

Unified Communications & Video Conferencing

IIPC designed and built a full Cisco Unified Telephony solution across the entire organisation. This encompassed over 500 Telephone handsets across the eight sites. This solution unified all of their offices with extension level dialling and presence. IIPC also deployed video conferencing at each office to deliver high definition video meetings between offices.

Cisco Managed Data Switch Network

IIPC designed and deployed a fully managed switch network across the entire organisation. This encompasses Dual Cisco 4500 Chassis switches in head office and Cisco 3560 switches in all of their branch offices.

IIPC currently manages, maintains and monitors this entire network. This is acheived via our Cisco Works platform and solarwinds monitoring platform.

Outcome

Device Technologies now have a fully integrated true unified communications solution that reaches every part of their network.  Intelligent IP Communications (IIPC) have delivered a single vendor solution encompassing every aspect of the customer communications needs.  IIPC provide fully managed services supporting and maintaining all 25 switches, 500 Phones, the entire cable and communications infrastructure as well as all carrier services.
