Saving costs on Staff Travel with video conferencing

Global IT infrastructure provider, Cisco Systems announced this week that they are hoping to eliminate $US400 million in travel costs through the internal uptake of video conferencing.

Many businesses already utilising video are including new criteria on request forms for travel approval.  Finance departments are asking staff to advise whether the meeting actually requires travel or if instead it could be attended over video.  This has resulted in even greater use of the in house conferening technologies.

Intelligent IP Communications offices have proudly recorded their 200th video meeting since installing the solution late last year in all offices around Australia.  The company has saved in excess of $40,000 on flights, accommodation, care hire and other associated costs of staff travel.
